I haven't forgotten!

I've been so busy that I've neglected my blog site - not that much is going on here anyway. I'm hitting a huge wall in Book 1 again. I'm 3/4 of the way done with it and realized one major thing: My main character, Summer, does not do anything! There is nothing for her to accomplish. Her life goes on and there is no conflict for her to solve in Book 1. Over the course of the five (maybe six) books, she accomplishes quite a bit in her life, but the first book really needs to draw the readers in. I'm stuck.

As the series Night is the New Day is not on any sort of deadline, I can take my time with this. I've been working on all the other books as I ponder Book 1. I started writing Book 1 in Nov. or Oct. 2008, I think. And for the past 2.5 years I've been jumping around from book to book. I want to focus on Book 1 but I can't get past my issue!! I believe that good writing takes a while, and I'm glad I don't work under the pressure of a deadline. I go at my own pace.

Anywho's, I'm off to bed. I just thought I'd type a few paragraphs and get my frustration out. Ahh----- I feel better! Sorta, kinda. Good night!
